 State Bar Presidents

Letters from the State Bar Presidents have generally fallen into two categories. 1. Annoying Drivel (praising their pals etc) and 2. Outright Condescension- Ya know the guy making big 6 figures spending the year at Presidential Suites and getting fat on our dues, and who would get lost in an actual courthouse, kicking us to do more “pro bono” or telling us how to practice. My choices are to annoyedly delete or actually read them and get really angry.

Allan DuBois recent letter is a pleasant suprise. You know about TLAP where lawyers can be referred to treatment or help without grievances or punishment but there is also is the Sheeran-Crowley Trust to pay for up to $8000 of treatment expenses. Remember lawyers are 2-3 times more likely than the general public to attempt suicide, and sadly when we do attempt it, we are way more successful. That attorney who acts rude , or forgets to answer correspondence, might be going through some serious issues and could use our help. It could be you or me.

  1. The recent letter from Allan DuBois is a wonderful surprise. You've probably heard of TLAP, where lawyers can be referred to treatment or support without fear of repercussions, but there's also the Sheeran-Crowley Trust, which will pay for up to $8000 in treatment costs. Remember that lawyers are 2-3 times more likely than the average population to attempt suicide, and when we do, we are far more successful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Keep up the good job! Continue to spread the word. Please take a peek at my website.

  2. Examine the letters from State Bar Presidents, which are usually broken down into two groups to show how influential they are in the legal community and profession. I appreciate you offering such excellent content. I learned something from your blog. Keep the word going.
